Fall Tradition: Pumpkin Picking!

Like I promised, here is our second Fall tradition of pumpkin picking!! Like the fair, we always go to the same place every year. Which is actually targeted at mainly younger kids, but really that just makes it all the more fun for us! They have HUGE fields of pumpkins and cute little installments (gigantic cows and pilgrim cut outs) which we take pictures with every year. It really is fun to go with my mom and sister because no matter what, each year we have a blast and come home with some really awesome pumpkins! Unfortunately my pumpkin did not make it very far this year (there was a slight constructional mishap when I tried to carve it into a ship, and there was a cave in... it looks more like a shipwreck now). But that's ok because I still had a blast anyway!

Featured Favorite: Anna Amphigorously Photography

Apologies once again, I know it has been awhile. This has just been a super tough semester and I am going to try my hardest to have a less action packed stressful one in the Spring. I am slowly but surely working on some really great things that I will eventually be able to share more about. One of those things being my vintage shop. I have come to realize that is what I love working on best and where most of my efforts will be going in the future. Anyways, on to the star of this post, Anna from Anna Amphigorously Photography. She is another young photographer who I love! I believe she is mostly self taught (my favorite kind of photographer). Her pictures are beautiful and dreamy and I could see her work in the pages of an Urban Outfitters catalogue, easy. To check out some more of her work click HERE.

P.S. If you follow me on Twitter you have already seen my profession of love for this song, but seriously is it not the greatest?!!

Inspired by It: Tim Walker

I LOVE Tim Walker. He is a brilliant photographer and one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. He is a British photographer who uses fantasy like props to help create a charming and visually beautiful composition. Sometimes he uses over sized objects or sets up ridiculously surreal scenes. His photos have a beautiful dream like feel which I absolutely love. They are very imaginative and completely stunning. He primarily works in fashion photography and you may have even seen his pictures in issues of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. I would LOVE to have a copy of his book Pictures, but it is a little out of my price range at the moment. Thank goodness for the internet...

The Brown Owl Goes to Sea

OK guys, I officially have a new obsession, model ships! Maybe I should rename the blog "The Brown Owl Goes to Sea" OHHH, I kind of like that! I guess you can say this all started when I thrifted that awesome model ship not too long ago. I really have always loved ships, especially drawing them. Possibly because I really like drawing waves, tons and tons of swirls everywhere! Swirls are kind of my thing, my artwork and designs are filled with them. I also love ships because I think they feel kind of magical. Maybe I have watched Peter Pan one too many times, but I always imagine them as ways of getting to any wonderful, magical place you could want to visit. Maybe that sounds silly, but either way I am completely in love with these beautiful "magical" vessels!
