Cath Kidston: Free Wallpaper

Does anyone else love Cath Kidston as much as I do?! I am completely obsessed with her floral patterns!! Cath Kidston is the founder and owner of this amazing shop based out of the UK. She has amazing floral everything and I seriously could buy every single thing she creates! (I would love to get one of her messenger bags one of these days). Thanks to the internet us US residents can order some of her great stuff, only catch is the extra cost to get our orders across the pond (and the exchange rate kills me too). One day I will bite the bullet and just order something. But until then at least my desktop can sport some of Cath's adorable prints. You can actually grab some free desktop backgrounds right from her site! Just click HERE.

Thrift It: Polka Dots and Florals

Sorry for the lack of posts!! Every time you see less posts from me know that I am having a tough work week at school, and wishing I could update the blog but having to do home work instead. Yuck! I am not liking my homework in the least bit. I feel like every aspect of graphic design that I do not enjoy is what we have been harping on. Don't get me wrong, I love graphic design, but kerning for hours is not my idea of a good time... Anyways, I went thrifting yesterday and found a ton of cute things!! It was really a spur of the moment thing (I had to go to the post office nearby and thought I would just stop in). Boy am I glad I did! I found a bunch of stuff for the Etsy shop (even a gorgeous 60's prom gown eeeek so cute!). I will be listing all of it in a couple of days, promise. I figured I would share with you some of the stuff I am keeping for myself because it is just too darn cute to part with...

Photobucket

1. Cute little owl figurine for my ever growing collection!!
2. Durango Boots! My best shoe find ever! Soo sturdy and in excellent condition!
3. Pink polka dot skirt in the prettiest pastel pink ever!
4. An adorable floral blazer, I just can not pass a good one up...

Brown Owl Vintage

I am so so sorry for the lack of posting. It has been crazy lately (likely excuse, I know...) It really has!! I have been working on getting all of my vintage clothes in the Etsy Shop. Let me tell you it's hard work... photographing, measuring, editing photos, listing items... sheesh! I am happy to say I have almost everything up, maybe 10 or 12 things left to list. I really would really like to just sell all of the vintage stuff I do not wear, but if it goes well maybe I will keep the shop, if only for money for the "Get Nicole an amazing new camera Fund." I have also been trying to fit in working on stuff for the headband shop which I have majorly been neglecting. I want to get pins, earrings, necklaces, and even a brand NEW type of flower clip in the shop by the end of this week. I also want to work on even better pictures for the shop too, time to bribe my sister to be my model... thankfully she is an easy bribe with bags of Swedish Fish! I also want to fit an outfit post in like I promised. Hopefully the weather will be a little less humid, right now I am rocking a full on afro, oh you think I kid, just wait... I ALSO have some side crafts I need to work on and some much needed, long over due hang out time with the best friend. Wow, I have a busy week ahead of me!! and I am already half way through it!! Here are some of the items I have listed in the Vintage Shop and some of the items coming soon hope you love them!! To visit my Etsy Vintage Shop click HERE.

Thrift It: Vintage Dresses

I thought I would share some thrifted vintage dresses today!! These three are some of my favorites and you can not beat the prices!! One thing I do need to work on is my hemming skills. A lot of thrifted dresses are super long and need a good chopping to make them look more updated and stylish. Thankfully these three are at a pretty good length. I do have a couple of dresses I am working on getting hemmed soon and I will share those as soon as they are done! I also want to let you know vintage dresses are sometimes hard to come by at thift stores, don't get discouraged if you don't find some each time you go. You really have to hunt for them, and you will probably need to alter them in some way. Whether it is hemming, fixing a button, or small tare. I know it sounds like some work, and it is, but remember you only paid $4 for the dress which will probably make you feel better about it! Enjoy!!

$4.50 Salvation Army (this is actually the dress I have on in my polaroid profile pic)

Nicole and Gabby's Antiquing Adventure

So Gabby and I had our antiquing adventure yesterday and it was a BLAST! The place we went to was a gigantic warehouse packed with antiques. It literally took us 2 hours to walk through the entire thing, and I know I still missed things. I don't go antiquing as much as I go thrifting so I don't feel qualified to make a list of tips. I will however be doing it much more often and I am sure I will be able to come up with some then. What I can tell you is, antiquing is a little more expensive then thrifting. Not terribly, and you can still find cheap things, you just need to dig even more for them. I only got one thing on this adventure, but I love it! My Mom is obsessed with Ralph Lauren and loves hunt scenes. If you have no idea what I am talking about click here. Anyway, I got her a hunt scene set of coasters for the living room for $4, and she loved them!! I am sure I will go back soon and spend more time to look at everything. Till then here are some pics from the adventure...

Want It: Vintage Dress

OK Soooo sorry for the lack of posts lately but I have some great things coming up!! I just lost my Photoshop because my hard drive crashed (don't worry Apple Care covered it thank the sweet baby Jesus!!). I am also trying to get my work room up and organized so I can work on some fabulous new things (I got a request for boutonnieres which I am super excited to start on). Once these two things are handled I will be even more excited to work on stuff for the shop! Anyway I thought I would share this dress I want so stinkin bad!! Only problem is I would have to sell an organ if I want to keep up with my budget. OK, maybe that was a little dramatic but you get it, deff. out of my price range...

Check back tomorrow I will be introducing a new type of post I will be doing every Friday. I also have an action packed weekend that will probably involve thrifting and flea markets. So get ready...
